SITE TOUR with TCU Development Corp. and CLV Group

uOREC partnered with TCU Development Corporation and CLV Group for an exclusive behind-the-scenes site tour, giving students a firsthand look at real estate development in action. Students stepped beyond the classroom to explore active projects, learn about the different stages of the development process, and see how industry professionals bring projects from concept to completion. Throughout the tour, students connected directly with professionals from TCU and CLV, gaining insight into development, construction, property operations, and the decision-making that shapes successful real estate projects.

The experience provided a unique opportunity to ask questions, build in industry connections, and better understand the many career paths available within real estate.

FIRESIDE CHAT with Paul Halucha

uOREC welcomed Paul Halucha - Deputy Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities - for an engaging Fireside Chat exploring housing, real estate, and the policies shaping Canada's built environment. Drawing on his extensive experience in the public sector, Paul shared valuable perspectives on housing policy, development, and the evolving relationship between government and the real estate industry.

 

Students gained firsthand insight into key industry challenges, emerging opportunities, and the intersection of public policy and real estate. The evening concluded with an opportunity for students to connect, ask questions, and engage directly with industry professionals.

REAL ESTATE CASE COMPETITION with TCU

In partnership with TCU Development Corporation, uOREC hosted a real estate case competition that challenged students to apply their analytical, financial, and strategic thinking to a real-world development scenario. Teams worked together to evaluate the opportunity, develop their recommendations, and present their strategies to a panel of industry professionals.

The competition gave students the opportunity to put classroom concepts into practice while strengthening their underwriting, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Finalist presented directly to industry judges, gaining valuable feedback, and firsthand exposure to the decision-making process behind real estate development.

WORKSHOP SERIES with KPMG and PwC

uOREC partnered with KPMG and PwC to deliver an interactive workshop series design designed to give students practical exposure to the financial and advisory side of commercial real estate. Through sessions, focussed on mergers and acquisitions, valuation, and real estate advisory, students gained insight into how industry professionals evaluate opportunities, approach complex transactions, and make strategic decisions.

The series combined industry expertise with hands-on learning, giving students the opportunity to apply key concepts, ask questions, and connect directly with professionals from two of the worlds leading professional services firms.
